The Cesky Terrier (sometimes called the Czech Terrier,
Czesky Terrier or Bohemian Terrier) is a small, but sturdy terrier
that was developed in Czechoslavakia by geneticist Frantisek Horak.
Less strong-willed and more mellow than many terriers, the Cesky is a
quickly gaining popularity in the U.S. and around the world, as a
beloved family pet.
Cesky Terriers make loving and devoted
companions. Small enough for apartment living, and athletic
enough for an active family, Cesky Terriers fit in well in most
environments, as long as they can be with the people they love.
They are fond of children and generally get along well with other
pets, especially if raised with them.
For those interested in being active with their dogs,
competitively or just for fun, Cesky Terriers are versatile dogs,
capable of excelling in conformation, obedience, earthdog, agility and
tracking events. They can be wonderful therapy dogs as well with
proper socialization and training.
